I worked for 7 months as a full time Co-op/Intern in the Ethicon Industrial Design and Human Factors department in Cincinnati, Ohio. The ID|HF team in Cincinnati primarily focuses on minimally invasive surgical tools for Ethicon but is also responsible for design with other J&J companies (Biosense Webster, ASP, Acclarent, Cordis, and Mentor). I supported all phases of the design process including human factors research, product research, concept sketching, product renderings, 3D database development, graphics, usability testing, and product marketing support.
